You've got a perfect topping for cakes, cupcakes, or cookies. This easy recipe is sure to become a go-to favorite in your baking repertoire! Go ahead and give it a try to add a sweet touch to your treats.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups plant-butter (308 grams) *we use Violife

  • 2 1/3 cups confectioners sugar (450 grams)

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract (17 grams)

What you‘ll need:

  • Mixer with paddle attachment, or a bowl and hand held mixer

  • Sifter

  • Rubber Spatula

Instructions:

  1. Allow your plant-based butter to soften slightly by leaving it on the counter 35 -60 minutes.

  2. Once your plant butter is slightly softened add it to your mixer bowl.

  3. Using a sifter, sift your confectioners sugar over the butter into your mixing bowl. Use the rubber spatula to scrape off any confectioners sugar on the sides of the mixer bowl.

  4. Add the vanilla extract to the bowl.

  5. Mix on low until combined and slightly pasty.

  6. Increase the mixer speed to high and mix for 3-5 minutes until your buttercream is smooth and soft.

  7. Your buttercream is now ready to enjoy!

*Depending on your plant-butter as you begin to mix it may look yellow but as you it is mixed air will be incorporated and this will lighten the color.

*Store in a sealed container at room temperature 5 days in the refrigerator up to 4 weeks, or frozen for up to 3 months.
